I went to my 40th high school reunion on Saturday night. It was such fun. My husband stayed for the dinner and then headed out. Beyond that, it was girls dancing, people playing with funny money at the casino tables, and recollections galore. I'm really glad I went. We were the last class to graduate from James Blair High School, were among the first students integrated in elementary school which began with freedom of choice and then forced integration, and we lived through the 60s and 70s together. The men grew distinguished and the women are beautiful. There were a few aging bodies there, but in general, we're holding up really well. I met some folks I didn't know well and rekindled some friendships with people I did know. And I danced. My new knees did their job just fine! I did a lot of watching others and tried to socialize with folks. I missed talking to a few, and next time, I'll remember to catch up and ask about their kids and lives.
I'm feeling refreshed and revitalized, and ready to face the week with meals planned through Friday.
And today begins a new with a breakfast made of left over sausage, left over mushrooms, and fresh eggs scrambled together. Nice taste combination!
